Why?
When patients and healthcare professionals engage together in healthcare, the use of medicines is better tailored to each patients’ needs and preferences. It is therefore of importance that healthcare professionals and health policy makers understand the patient perspective on medicines use and know how to integrate this perspective into healthcare.
We offer courses on the patient perspective on medicines use, and how to further explore this. Course participants will get an understanding of patients’ lives with medicines and will learn how (and try themselves) to conduct a small study.
What and when?
We offer two learning options:
Option 1.
Understanding Patient Perspectives on Medications
The fundamentals of the patient perspective on medicines use.
4-week online course running continuously every 4 weeks.

Option 2.
Patient Perspectives on Medications: Qualitative Interviews
The fundamentals of the use of interview methods to explore patients’ perspectives on medicines use.

Both courses are developed for professionals who can influence patients’ use of medicines, and who wish to improve their awareness of patients’ perspectives. Course participants can be:
- Anyone who makes decisions about medicines which have an impact on patients
- Anyone who is willing to implement and make a change (e.g. in quality and development work, policies and guidelines)
Organisers and teachers
The courses are organized in collaboration with researchers from the University of Oslo, University of Groningen, and Trinity College Dublin.
